Bone Spurs

Bone Spur

Bone spurs are a very common problem in the foot. Bone spurs are small, or occasionally large, projections of bone that extend from the edges of bones. Bones spurs can happen in any location of the foot and are not always painful but they can often cause symptoms when they are in areas of high pressure.

It is common for you to experience pain from a bone spur that is located in an area where you put pressure, such as your heel, or where it comes in contact with shoes, such as on the top of your foot.

The treatment for a bone spur will depend on the location and the type of symptoms you are experiencing. If you suspect you have a bone spur or notice that you have a bump on your foot, make an appointment today to discuss it with our podiatrist.
